Our story

Founded in 2021 by a collective of Kenyan fisheries experts and local communities, Pazuri Fish began with a simple belief: the riches of Lake Victoria must be harvested responsibly. Starting with a single landing site in Kisumu, we now work with over 1,200 fishers across Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya, ensuring fair prices and ecosystem-first practices.

Foundation & first partners

Pazuri Fish launched with 3 community-based fishing cooperatives on the Kenyan shore.

2022

Traceability system

Introduced blockchain-based catch documentation, ensuring 100% lake-to-plate transparency.

2023

Zero-plastic packaging

Transitioned all our products to compostable and recycled materials, saving 45 tons of plastic.

2024

Women in Fisheries

Launched training hubs empowering 500+ women in fish processing and sustainable trade.

2025

Regenerative certified

First Lake Victoria fishery to achieve silver-level "Aquatic Stewardship" pre-certification.
